Four Ways to Maximize Your Kitchen Space
Many homeowners crave space to store boxes, food and clothes. They spend plenty of time and money to make sure their house has enough storage space. Many people feel closets are the most important items to place boxes or other not always used items in. Basements, garages and attics come a close second. However, it’s surprising that there is much talk about storage around the house but the kitchen gets left out.
When it comes to the kitchen, there is often never enough space. Should you be suffering from lack of cabinets in your kitchen, it’s time to do something about it. Once you get more space, you’ll wonder how you ever did without it. You’ll also give your kitchen that “new look” feel. Still, you have to keep in mind four important things when you are installing your cabinets and/or drawers.
- First, drawers should be located in an ideal place. This usually means where you are going to be working. They can be used for all sorts of things like utensils, food and kitchen towels. You can also design them to pull out far. Other drawers can be used for pots and pans, which are kept organized. These are usually fixed into a cabinet and can be easily opened and closed. The ball-bearing guides let the drawer move smoothly in and out.
- Second, if you aren’t in the mood to replace the cabinets or you like the ones you got, you can still get that extra room you need and crave. How? You can craft interiors inside the cabinets so you can see everything. That means you won’t reach beyond what you have to. Pullout cabinets allow you to bring out spices, sauces and many more with little effort as well.
- Third, you probably have at least one cabinet that’s in the corner. Corner cabinets usually have less space due to a number of reasons. However, spice racks can let you use this area that is typically unoccupied.
- Lastly, you can have a pull out option for pet food. Covert one drawer that can hold pet food bags or cans in the upper drawer. Their dishes can be on the bottom drawer. If you want to make it easier for them to get to, leave the drawer out at all times. It’s an easy way to feed your pet without too much of a mess.
